  • I have helped serve the community over a handful of times at this location. Every experience has been fulfilling and humbling. The volunteer coordinator, Marcus (the point of contact via email and also the coordinator at the location on our days of helping) is helpful and patient. On all occasions, I had teens aged 12-17 in our group. For some of them, it was their first time experiencing/making direct contact with those less fortunate. Marcus always assigns the teens/younger adults the jobs that have direct interaction, as he feels that is where they will benefit the most. It is a good strategy. I have served during both dinner time slots, and have also spent hours with my group, organizing the food donation pantry. The processes have always been efficient and organized. I am so glad there are such places like this that take care of those who need the help, and that allow us community members to be directly involved. For just a few short hours here, you can make a big difference. I will continue to spend my time here and serve those who show up for a hot meal and a full belly.
