| - I could not decide on the rating for this one for a long time. It's actually not a bad hotel. It's modern, relatively clean and best of all, quiet, which is not so easy to find in Vegas. However, there were too many 'accidents' for me to become a big fan.
So, on the plus side, as I mentioned above:
+ It's a pretty new building, so everything is in good condition and looks nice. There is no colorful sculptures or decorations, like in other hotels, it's less artsy and flashy and more modern and minimalist. After spending few hours in other hotels here and there I definitely can say that I prefer it that way.
+ The cleaning service was great. The maids never bothered you if you didn't want cleaning. And if you did they were always done before you were back to the room, even if you only went out for an hour. Great organization! And I love the button system.
+ There is no casino there, therefore there is also no noise, no smoke smell and no drunk people. And the nearest casino is right in the building in front of Vdara, so no loss :)
+ Market Cafe Vdara - great breakfast spot on the ground level
+ It's pet friendly.
+ The poll is also ok. Not fabulous or anything, rather on a small side, but no crowds and a lot of deck chairs.
However:
- There was mold on the back of my hairdryer. Luckily I noticed it before I used it and I got a new one quickly, but still, they should check on such things. Blah, disgusting!
- Light went out in the whole suite after I switched it on. I had to wait a few hours before someone came. He was very nice and solve the problem quickly though.
- There was dust on all the furniture just a few hours after cleaning, even with windows closed, so not a great place for allergy sufferers.
- They canceled the possibility to charge bills to our room and when asked why, they had no idea at all. However, it was quickly rectified.
- In comparison with other hotels, Vdara's infrastructure is poor at best. There is one small cafe, Starbucks and a drink bar. And that's it. No shops, no restaurants.
- The prices for cosmetics and treatments in SPA are very high, but their quality mediocre.
All in all, I will probably try another hotel if I ever go back, but that one is not a bad choice.
