| - Disappointed. Based on rave reviews a group of friends booked a dinner. Upon arrival, the restaurant was busy, not crazy, but there was a lack of ambience of energy. I found the decor, layout and lighting uninspiring for a place with such raves in a trendy part of town. Onto the food..The portions are small. I felt like I was in an upper east side restaurant in Manhattan where skinny women eat. The beet salad was a frisee salad that had a few chunks of beets. If they were fresh, I couldn't have told you. The appetizers aka bar snacks arrived at same time as our first course salads. That defeats the point of ordering something to snack on. It was olives, it didn't need to be cooked. And again, if they were fresh and unique, I couldn't tell you. Entrees are pitifully small for the price. Portions of them were yummy, but the scallops arrived with a cooked greens, stems attached and all of us were pulling them from our mouth. If it's on the plate it should be edible. Cut the stems off in the kitchen please. The meatloaf appeared to be the best entee of the 5 we tried. Dessert was the mini size, the 3 tablespoons of mousse side.
This is a pub.. I know it's an upscale pub but if I was expecting to healthier size portions. Service was attentive initially, multiple servers. We were talking asked if we wanted coffee with desserts, we were not askecif we wanted a second cocktail. Our waters were filled.
But hey, based on these reviews, it was like I walked into the wrong restaurant.
