My friend and I were granted access to the Bathhouse Spa (usually only available to hotel guests) on a slow day before Christmas for a hard-to-beat facility fee of $25. For the price, the spa offered great value.
The biggest draw is the ambiance: dark slate/granite colored walls and inviting light blue pools and tubs -- all the perfect temperature, a nice hot sauna, and a completely clothing-optional environment (I think -- at least no one told me otherwise!)
My complaints: I really only have 2: it was odd that the bathrooms were so far away from the pools and none of the jacuzzi jets could hit my upper back (which could just be a limitation of physics).
Recommendations to the spa: 1) the steam room is a great size and gets very hot -- it would be even better to use a scent like Eucalyptus or lavender to enhance the experience, 2) the CPR instructions don't include chest compressions -- the most recent resuscitation guidelines focus more heavily on chest compressions than rescue breaths
Overall, it was a relaxing experience, and I would consider going back, especially at its competitive price for decent value.
