| - I've tried this place twice and both times the service has been their greatest down fall.
THE FIRST TIME: arrived, ordered the souffle and we're told it takes 30mins. Fast forward 45mins, we're told the prep was just started because they were very busy (there were 2 other tables) and should expect something in another 30 mins. We leave after receiving nothing.
THE SECOND TIME (aka "The Mistake"): called in advance to order souffles and avoid the fiasco during my first visit. Told that I will need to share my credit card info over the phone before I can order (i am starting to think a nigerian prince may run the place, but seriously it's a $20 order.... I've never heard of this info being required at any restaurant ever!). We arrive and wait another 20 mins before anything arrives.
THE FOOD:
- Souffle (chocolate & vanilla): underwhelming at best, one-dimensional, paired with a fruit sauce that was ok. Nothing special.
- Milk Bottle (Mango): tastes like mango pudding from a dimsum place, but 3x the price.
- Matcha Mochi: interesting bite-sized dessert that had the texture of mochi+cake. But at $1.75 a bite, I'm not sure what I paid for.
- Macaroon (earl grey): this was Sweet Note's only saving grace. Great texture and flavour, well portioned and not overly expensive at $2.50 a pop. This one is a 4/5.
CONCLUSION: If you like taking instagram picures of novelty food, this is the place to go! If you care the slightest bit about good food, attentive service and your own time, AVOID THIS PLACE!!!
Please do not fall victim to this place, I've tried it twice to no avail. Otherwise if you do go, all I can say is: "...Told you so."
