| - This is just such a cute small airport! As others have said, I'm not how they stay in business given the scale of their operations. Indeed, the AA staff checking you in do multiple jobs. Joseph, the guy who checked me in, also carried my luggage manually (there was no conveyer belt system out front) to a back room while the lady AA employee checking in guests at the counter next to mine was later seen at the gate boarding us to the aircraft. Kudos to Joseph too, his cheery attitude really brightened my day as I was starting to feel the dread of an upcoming long flight.
The check in process is really swift, as can be expected for such a small airport. I think there are just 5 gates sharing a common holding area of about 200 ft in length max. I reached the airport just 45 min before my flight, but only took about 15 min to clear both the checking in and the security. I think I might be cutting it close though, as the airport's website states that the bag checking system closes 30 min before departure, so arrive later at your own risk! If you only have carry ons then then you're fine. If you're flying to Chicago, the flight time is only about 25 min and the plane doesn't even climb above the clouds. Great if you're pressed for time.
If you go to the Chambana area often consider flying to this airport! The staff are nice and not edgy like those in large airports and seem to know the frequent flyers on a first name basis. It would be nice to have that extra human touch before/ after a flight as you pass through this airport.
As for services and facilities wise, there's a Hertz rental out at the front, and small cozy holding room, and an Einstein Bagels in the holding area. Restrooms are clean too, which is expected, given the low traffic of the airport.
