  • Went to the ER for foodborne illness and heat exhaustion. Was forced to sit in 2 waiting rooms for over 4 hours before someone started an IV. I heard patients and family members constantly in distress because no one would show up after they used the alarm to call for a nurse. I used the alarm once to be assisted to use the restroom, but after waiting 30 minutes I had to crawl down the hall by myself. To top it off, I was discharged prematurely and within 2 hours I was back in the ER with IVs for fluid. Other than the actual doctors, the nurses and the rest of the staff have no intentions of providing care. Be careful navigating through the facility, there's a lot of trash and litter in the waiting area, hallways, and rooms. Update: Called the ER because they didn't send my Rx to the pharmacy and have been put on hold for 45 minutes! I don't know how anyone survives after being "treated" by this Carolinas Medical Center.
