  • It's not the cleaning service but the overall customer service. They are generic volume based business, they do a ton of cleaning, nothing special. They are just very unsophisticated and quite rude when challenged, I will never go back. Recently took a $500 Kate Spade Broome Street dress, my favourite, for cleaning. It came with a matching sash. They lost the sash, then when I called the fellow I spoke to was very rude, yelled to the point that I had to ask him why he was yelling, and he said it didn't matter if it was a $2500 dress, it was up to me to check the order on return home, that he "didn't have to do anything" by way of following up to check etc. It was 1.5 weeks between depositing the dress and discovering the sash was missing, so not months and months. He conducted himself like a bully who was going to shout you down, pathetically old school. Anyway, he called a few days later (at least they checked) and said the sash was not on the order. No sorry, nothing expressing any kind of concern (because they are a volume business and my paltry $150 a month in cleaning won't be missed I am sure). He pleasantly said thanks for following up! I guess it's to be expected when your work clothes consist of a $10 t-shirt and dirty baggy jeans. The dry cleaning chemicals must be getting to their brains. They hire young high school girls who may not be trained to document these things and now they say I didn't submit it with the dress. It was hanging on the loops when I submitted it, where else would it be for heaven's sake?? My biggest mistake was forgetting to remove the sash before taking it to them ( I was rushed that day). My advice is to avoid taking good items to this place unless you want to be abused if there are any issues with your order, when challenged they lose their shit, totally unsophisticated. Go to more respectable places if you have expensive clothing, they clearly do not value the customer because they just have so many they have no incentive to be professional as they can afford to lose you. I'm just going to go to another place closer to my house, they are a lovely couple and charge more but I have a relationship with them. I just checked the reviews that are not recommended and saw a few other folks have had this experience, one was thrown out after being screamed at for ten minutes! I feel your pain, the guy I spoke to is psychotic. Happy ending: called Kate Spade at Eaton Centre and they are shipping me a replacement sash they managed to source. Amazing service, that's what you get in the civilized world.
