| - I am sad as I write this. I used to love this truck. Their food is very authentic --- nothing fancy...just very simple. Service is generally pretty good.... last time I was there (May 2017), there was a long line (well, not long but about 5 people deep) with I waited a very long time for my food. They were obviously making one order at a time. This time, I came in at 11:30am and there was nobody there. The open sign was lit and I rang the service bell. Nobody. It seemed a little weird, because there was a cell phone lying right behind the glass of the sliding order window. There were $20 bill taped to the window.... it didn't seem very secure. But anyway, after about 3-4 minutes, the man comes into the truck and starts putting things away. He doesn't acknowledge me. Then he eventually turns around, sees me and takes my order. I ordered 3 tacos.... he said 5 minutes. I take a seat at the picnic bench. About 3 minutes later, a group of 3 people come up, ring the bell and they order. They were looking at the menu, pointing and telling the man what they wanted (in Spanish). My Spanish isn't great but I knew that they each ordered a Torta. Then they paid. Another 5 minutes go by, and they get their order. They all sit at the table and start eating. Then another minute or so goes by and he serves me my food. I inquire about why they got their food first, and he just shrugs and says, "they called ahead".
Now, I'm not about who's first in line or who gets what first, but I do mind if I'm being flat out lied to my face. His cell phone was sitting at that window before he took my order. He didn't seem to be in any rush to cook anybody's food when he was putting things away and/or taking my order. My Spanish isn't great, but I know enough to know that they ordered when they got to the window. So I know that they didn't call ahead because that phone didn't even move from that order window until he got to the front. Their order was a lot more complicated than my order of 3 tacos. Just flat out rude/preferential treatment of people and I will not be coming here ever again.
