  • This place is SUPER FUN!!! Came here for the first time for a karaoke unofficial Yelp event put together by the fab Laura CT and have to say it was très entertaining! Considering the last time I did karaoke was in my cousin's basement (and fyi we kept singing Creep by Radiohead?? which is a painful song to sing karaoke style) Bar + was a phenomenal step up from my relatives' fobby karaoke cave. We we're fortunate enough to have the generous sized room #1 which was pimped out with two large screen TV's, accent LED lighting and wrap around leatherette seating, and could easily put any peeler joint VIP room to shame, oh and bt http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j9yBPcn8Iq At one point it got pretty hot in the room (because of the large capacity of people, about 20+) but the air con/circulation soon made things just right. The selection of music here at Bar+ Lounge is staggering and best of all you can download an app for both Android and Iphone and have your favorite songs cued to the room. My one complaint is that Bar+ needs to add Snoop Dog's "ain't nuthin' but a G thang" to their repertoire, it's a must have Snoop Dog tune imo. There is also a kick ass selection of Asian songs too....Yay team FOB!!! Something I would like to add is that more mics for larger groups like ours would be nice as I'm sure the 2 Mics we had, did accumulate a good showering of saliva from our amateur singing/spit shower and more Light-up tambourines would be awesome too(i loved those things!!!) The Highlight of our night had to be our CM's singing the Barbie song in gender role reversal and the sight of Bobby N's horrified reaction to seeing the ACTUAL lyrics of misogynistic rap tunes spelled out onscreen in all it's innuendoed glory ....good times!!! Sweet Tip: Do yourself a BIG favour and cue up G'n'R's "Sweet Child 'O' Mine" just to watch the 90's soft porn video accompaniment for shits and giggles, you'll thank me later. P.s. To Justin, Whitney (rip), Axel and Bon Jovi, if your ears were ringing last Friday, yeah that was me bastardizing the shit outta your songs, get over it! Oh Bar Plus Karaoke, you're so very special...so fucking special...and I'm a shitty singer outside of the shower apparently.
