Old school Vegas at its finest.
I've been coming to Hugo's since I was a teen. My dad worked in 4 Queens management and we were lucky to be comped here quite a few times. In those days though, I was vegetarian (Womp Womp).
I've developed a new love for Hugo's as a grown woman. My friends and I went for a birthday celebration. Upon entering the restaurant, all women are given a single red rose (classy). On this particular night, I ordered the filet de boeuf Atlantis. With the meal comes a table side prepared salad with pretty much every topping imaginable to choose from. Get the peppercorn ranch. You won't be disappointed. Back to the filet. Oh my. Filet mignon wrapped in bacon sitting on a bed of lumped crab. Does this really exist? Yes it does.
Try to save room for dessert. You must get something flombéd. Preferably the bananas foster. It is just such a delight to have your dessert prepared table side and then set on fire!!
If you are really feeling hungry, I highly recommend the Hugo's hot rock for 2. Table side they bring slabs heated to 500 degrees smear them with garlic and then sear pieces of chicken, filet mignon, shrimp and tuna. It is served with 3 different sauces and is quite delightful.
Shout out to John the best sommelier in town and the V team Vincent and Victor who really understand old school Vegas class. Real Gentlemen and really great service.
