  • Upon arrival, I had a great experience. I was able to check in with my colleague and I requested a corner room on a higher level away from some of the festival participants. I was here for four nights for an event nearby. The event recommended that we stay at the Wyndham. I had never stayed at one before so I opened a loyalty account as soon as I arrived in case I enjoyed my stay. It was a very easy process. The property is pretty good. The location is great because it is right by Market Square & downtown Pittsburgh where there are many restaurants and bars. The property was also within walking distance of my event which made things very easy for me. Their amenities are decent. They have an indoor, heated pool, a fairly large fitness center, a small business center, gift shop, small restaurant, and a Starbucks that has very bizarre hours due to their contract with the airlines. They are open from 11pm and close at 3 PM. The room was very small, mostly just a bed with a window, desk, and a small bathroom. I did not spend much time in my room. There is no concierge lounge or refrigerator in the room. The reason for the low rating is because of my checkout experience. The night before I checked out, there was a legit party going on next-door. I had to be up early for the airport, earlier than 5 AM. People were smoking cigarettes in their room, playing loud music, running up and down the halls and screaming swearwords. There were high school age kids staying in this hotel for the event I was working, and I wanted to make sure that these people would stop behaving this way. I called down to the front desk several times and the girl was very rude to me. Continuously telling me that they are guests too. It was the worst customer service I have experienced. When I checked out, I mentioned that I had called down several times and complained about the noise but it never changed and I never slept. Above all of that, it was the horrible customer service that really made me upset. This noise continued on until right before I woke up at 4 AM. Again, when I checked out the lady was not nice and did not apologize and continued to tell me that they can't control the noise of other guests. It went from being a very pleasant check in experience with great customer service to a horrible check out experience with awful customer service. I had to give it a middle rating but ultimately with such poor customer service I definitely wouldn't recommend staying here.
