Wow, wasn't expecting such a neat park with a rich history further up Charleston from the scenic Red Rock drive. Many short trails for casual walking/hiking. A natural spring feeds Lake Harriet, which is pretty and relaxing to look at (especially in the heat of a summer day). The Ranch House Visitor Center shows the history of the ranch (once owned by Howard Hughes, among others). Volunteers there are incredibly friendly and helpful. There is a picnic and grilling area but overnight camping isn't allowed. Well worth the trip to get away from the hustle and bustle of today's Las Vegas for a while.
