| - I first found out about Stax while watching something on local eateries in Scottsdale on tv somewhere. When we drove past it a few months ago, I just had to try it. Initially, I was very impressed. Not only did we get to order various slider-type burgers made of wild boar, turkey, and buffalo, but each one was dressed and seasoned with various herbs, cheeses, and so on. The price was decent-- come in time for their happy hour and get virtually half their menu for only $3. As a side, we opted for their tater tots-- definitely a crowd-pleaser. Their sangria blanca was also decent and definitely better than their traditional (which really doesn't taste all too traditional at all). However, the second, third, fourth time around I just wasn't all that excited about it anymore. Some of the burgers that I enjoyed the first couple of times just were not as satisfying and I started to see the service go from a 5 to about a 2 or 3 in quality. Overall, a good and inexpensive place to go before a movie at the Camelview, but don't go out of your way for it.
