  • My experience at this "paradise of desserts" can be more aptly described as "hell on earth". Despite the off-peak time we arrived, it took an unreasonable amount of time for the hostess to acknowledge our presence, as we stood idly behind the "Please wait to be seated" sign for what seemed to be an interminable wait, enough to try the patience of a saint. Unwilling to let first impressions ruin my pleasant evening, I sat down and shrugged off the delayed greeting. However, there were no menus on the table and the glass cups were empty. After another protracted wait, we made a few futile attempts to catch the attention of a waiter. After being ignored for almost 30 minutes, I decided to take matters into my own hands and walked to the counter to request courteously for menus at the very least, and perhaps some water? Although we were finally provided menus, it took a dickens of a time, yet again, for our orders to be taken. It took ages to hail the attention of a waiter. I ordered the "Millefeuille in a jar" and a "Café au lait". Unfortunely, the waiting game continues... My patience was wearing thin as more time has passed (maybe 30 minutes?) and still nothing. Once again, I took the bull by the horns and went go to the counter myself (as nobody seemed to wait our table) to inquire about the status of my order. To my astonishment, the lady behind the counter apologized and pointed out that what I had ordered was out of stock and that my "café au lait" had been sitting on the counter, collecting dust. In other words, I have been waiting for something that was out of stock but was never informed, and my "café au lait" was prepared but never served to me. When I finally got my drink, it was, as one can expect, tepid, just like my mood. When I pointed that out to staff, I was asked if I wanted to have it "reheated"... What a travesty, to have your espresso-based drink "reheated", wouldn't you say? I politely declined and asked for one freshly made. It could be worse, you say. You are absolutely correct: what took the cake was when the bill arrived, I was charged the "Millefeuille in a jar" that was out of stock! And that was the final nail in the coffin for me, never again! Bullet point summary: -Longest wait of my life (to be greeted, to be seated, to have order taken, to get the bill...): I most certainly developed microscopic wrinkles and cataracts during the wait -My "Millefeuille" order was never served because an ingredient was out of stock, but I was never informed as I just kept on waiting like a blithering idiot. -My "Cafe-au-lait" arrived tepid/cold because the waiter forgot about us -I was offered to have my cold Cafe au lait "reheated" by staff (what an abomination!) -I was charged the "millefeuille" I was never served.
