I ummmm, might have a hard time finding the words to express how much I love the pastries I tried at this place.
It's just a little 3 table bakery counter place, so don't go thinking you will linger for hours over your espresso cup.
The coffee is self-serve and quite decent.
Didn't try the bread.
Now, it's all about the croissants. Bought a chocolate for there and a pear tart to go. I took one bit of the chocolate and immediately went back to the counter for an almond croissant. Not because I didn't like the chocolate, but because I looooooved it and wanted moooooore. Now, if love is what I felt for the chocolate croissant, the almond one, well the closest word might be l'amour. French love. Much stronger, more powerful. I could only eat half. The other half went home and was downed with the pear tart a few hours later. As in, could not wait for the next day.
The place was so good I texted a picture of the almond croissant to a French friend in DC and promised her I would bring one the next time I am in town. She took one look at the pic and replied, "Real deal."
