I am highly disappointed with Cox and do not recommend their service to anyone unless you plan to never transfer/end your services. My experience ending my internet services has been a nightmare and it seems like I am not the only one with such bad experience.
To start, I called to have my internet services cancelled ten days in advance, advising the man with whom I was speaking with, the SPECIFIC DATE I would like it to be cancelled as a still needed use of the internet in order to take an online class. I get home that night and my services are cancelled. Five hours of routine study are unable to be completed because I have no internet connection. I call the next morning to have it reinstated in which I was advised it was an "error" and my services were reinstated with an activation fee, but luckily it was indeed refunded as promised.
My internet then gets cancelled as requested and I was prompted to make the decision of receiving a prepaid shipping box to return my leased equipment or drop it off at a Cox Communications location. For certain reasons, I chose to receive a prepaid shipping box. About 3 business days went by and I never received this box and was advised an order was "never placed" to have this sent to me, but was assured it would be sent "this time, free of charge " as apparently , there is a charge for this I was never advised of to begin with. The representative also assured me "I would not be charged any fees for assumed unreturned gear" as she "made a note of it on my account" Of course, I never received this "free of charge shipping box" and went into a Cox Communications store and returned my equipment.
Shock surprise, I now have a statement showing I owe $108 for loaned equipment. LOL. I highly recommend that anyone thinking of choosing cox reconsider, as their customer service is absolutely HORRIBLE.
