  • I moved to the area over the summer and came to K&M on a recommendation....big mistake. I figured how bad could they be? Their servicing was horrible and they lied about their billing and for as simple as tax services should be, they failed to deliver as I would have expected. Before moving forward I explained my situation and how I intended to file and asked for a quote. They told me $320, which was on par with what I had paid in the past. I sent them my tax information two weeks before the filing deadline and figured all was well. After not hearing anything for about 10 days, I called to see where everything stood. I had not included one of my state W-2 and they could not finish my taxes. They failed to reach out to me to ask for this additional information which I found surprising. When were they going to find me...April 16. I asked them to assess my filing method (Married join or married single) to figure out which would be more beneficial and they never addressed that question. Let's move on. They are not very accessible which odd during tax season. Their office hours are from 9PM - 4PM. If you need to speak to them outside those times, better use email or leave a message and wait them to get back to you. Once they finally completed my returns, they e-filed them but never bothered to ask how I wanted to get my refunds? They filed and I received my refunds via check but did not ask if I wanted electronic payment. A very surprising practice since electronic payments are quicker and more secure than checks. Clearly they did not have their customer's best interest in mind. Lastly, the bill. After they completed their service and explained the status of my returns, I informed them of the $50 off online coupon I would be using. When their invoice came, I was expecting to see their original quote of $320.00 less the $50.00 discount. Instead, the adjusted the base fee up to $370.00 and then took off $50.00. I was stunned to see such deceitful behavior. If they were willing to lie about their billing, I am now wondering if they even did my taxes correctly. I am considering trying to find a new tax services firm to have them review their work. So...if you want limited access to your tax preparer, want to get your refund the slowest means possible and want to be incorrectly billed, use K&M Accounting and Tax Services.
