| - Ohio City Pasta is freshly prepared pasta that is never dried or frozen and sold locally. An allotment of Cleveland Restaurants, including Crop Bistro buy from Ohio City Pasta. Home chefs can find their pasta at The West Side Market. I've also seen a few of their items sold at Heinens.
Those of you who've tried fresh pasta will agree that it is far superior to that of the boxed, dried variety. Ohio City expands on fresh pasta by offering various cuts, varieties and custom flavors.
The varieties of pasta cuts including Angelhair, Linguine, Fettuccini, Spaghetti and Pappardelle come in custom flavors such as roasted red pepper, lemon, garlic & chive, black pepper basil, orange-sesame ginger, cajun, chipotle, spicy lime and cilantro among others.
They also sell stuffed pasta such as Ravioli, Agnollotti, and Tortellini. All fillings are made from scratch and Ohio City Pasta prides themselves in using only the freshest ingredients.
When cooking, make sure to heed the instructions included with every order. Fresh pasta cooks in a fraction of the time required by dried pasta. And since it's sold fresh, eating within a week is recommended, otherwise you can freeze it up to a month. You can cook it frozen too. When the water comes to a boil, plop the frozen hunk of pasta in the water, let the water come back to a boil, then cook according to the directions. It doesn't get much easier than that.
The fun part comes in making a sauce to pair with your pasta. And with the assortment of pasta flavors, your options are endless.
