| - My husband is the real ice cream fan, so I asked for his rating:
"It really depends what you get. I thought your scooped ice cream was incredible. Maybe don't get the dipped stuff. I guess maybe kids like that strawberry shit?"
That about sums it up. I had my heart set on a maple-syrup ice cream cone, and this joint did not disappoint. It was incredibly rich, sweet (almost too-sweet) "hard" maple ice cream with a maple caramel ribbon. A single scoop is actually two rounds, enough to share (no, you can't split between flavors unless you order two scoops, which must be huge!). Hubby's strawberry soft serve was of the Nestlé Kwik artificial-flavor variety, but if that's your bag, you may enjoy it. I think it would've been better dipped in dark chocolate rather than maple, which was rather thick, sweet, and waxy.
Would I go again? For sure. Was it life-changing ice cream? Nah. Next time I'd try a small vanilla soft-serve dipped in dark chocolate. But for that particular iteration, I bet the Érico chocolatier and artisianal ice cream shop a few blocks away has the edge.
