| - We live as far East as you can get, before reaching Boulder City. However, the drive from our house to DT Summerlin was maybe 25 minutes, tops, and so worth it.
We had heard about the Winter/Holiday festivities on the radio and finally had a free evening to check it out.
The Winter parade started at 7pm and we pulled into the area at 6:50pm. There was quite a bit of traffic in the actual complex (to be expected), but there were traffic guards/guides to help keep flow.
We found a space in my desired area in under 2 minutes. There was quite a crowd waiting for the parade to start, however every area along the sidewalk had a nice view. The 'streets' between the shops are brightly lit, and everywhere we walked was clean.
The parade was fun for all ages, and there was 'snow' that fell gently on the crowd. The perfect touch to a nice Winter scene.
The shops and restaurants are a nice mix of higher end and affordable. There are a few art galleries that we browsed on the way to the Holiday ice skating rink they had set up. We also had dinner at a restaurant that we chose from the restaurant/store locator 'map/key' (the display was touch screen and easy to use).
Ample parking, a variety of stores, snacks, restaurants, and art galleries make it another jewel in the desert. Thumbs up, and can't wait to return!
