| - So, if I can convince one person to not buy a car here...I'll be happy. I bought my car 7 years ago and after I bought it, I couldn't have been happier. I had my dream BMW and life was good...then about a year later the AC stopped working. CarMax was super nice, and conveniently (lol) fixed it in 2 weeks. I thought, "this is ok, obviously my car may have issues since it's used". Well, 6 months later, the same issue occurs, the AC doesn't work. Weeks later, it gets fixed. Then about a year later, my alternator breaks, they fix it. About 6 months later, there was an electrical issue where my lights didn't work, had to bring back to CarMax to fix. The biggest was the oil leak. I've brought it down 3 times in 3 years to have it fixed, each time they say it's "fixed", but never-the-case. Almost the entire time I owned my car, there was a small oil leak that never got resolved, yet, they said it was resolved.
Moral of the story is, CarMax has superb customer service, but they sell you the crappiest cars. They offer a great warranty, but this will never fill the inconvenience of your car constantly breaking. I bought my car with 42,000 miles, and even people at the BMW dealership smirk like they know something when I bring my car to get repaired, knowing I bought my car at CarMax. Take it from a guy who has bought his car from this place and went through all the trials and tribulations of what I bought- just go somewhere else :-)
