I first came here in early December. For some reason the huge 70% off posters and the concrete floor made me think it was a temporary sale shop and I cursed my decision not to buy the cute red patent shoes I saw that day. It turns out that it's actually a proper shop so I got to make a second attack today.
It's a strange mixture of books, trinkets, clothes and lots of shoes. Shoes vary from the sensible comfy ones to really dressy going out ones and cool funky styles. There's a large selection of boots as well, again a mixture of sensible and sexy. I picked up a pair of comfy walking to work shoes today for $65 (originally $225) and the red patent ones I'd been craving for $45 (marked at $145). Most of the shoes are ones I would wear and remind of the more European type shoes.
It's pretty well laid out and not at all cluttered but still manages to give that treasure trove feeling-like you never know what you might come across. I could definitely have parted with a lot more cash. It was pure willpower that stopped me!
Staff are friendly without being pushy.
The only reason it gets 4 stars really is the hit and miss nature of places like this-you may fall in love with something to find it's not in your size...or just not particularly like what they have in stock at any given time.
I'll be back!
