I finally checked out this brewery that I have heard so much about lately. Everyone keeps raving about their beers so it was time to check it out on July 4th.
The space is nice. It's in an old firehouse in downtown Waxhaw. Parking in on the street but finding parking in Waxhaw shouldn't be a problem except for today when there was an Independence Day festival a block away. But I got lucky and parked right next to the brewery.
The space is a decent size for a brewery in a small town. There are plenty of tables amd a decent sized bar in the back.
In regards to Pamela's review..they do serve wine so they must have listened. And most brewreries in the Charlotte area close around 10pm. So that didn't bother me. Also, they have food options from Boars Head. And like most breweries that do not serve food, you can order in. They have menus available.
Now for the beer. They had a few IPAs, two pale ales and a witbier on tap when I was there. Not much of a variety in my opinion. The IPAs were decent but I couldn't taste the coconut in the one with coconut. The Milk Pail was my favorite beer of the day but it too seemed to be lacking something.
It's a nice space. The staff was nice but the beer didn't really do anything for me. It was also extremely hot inside. I'd suggest ceiling fans to circulate the air, especially if you're going to have the garage doors open on a 95 degree day.
