  • I wish I could give this complex -5 stars. I just moved out last week and couldn't be happier to be out of that place. These may look appealing for the location and the price but please please PLEASE don't be fooled like we were. When you go for a tour they seem like upgraded, classy and safe apartments but they are ANYTHING but that. When we first moved in we noticed we were constantly sick from the first night for a month or two straight. We first thought allergies but there was always a weird smell in our apartment along with LAYERS of dust covering everything. We would clean top to bottom regularly and still have a layer of filth almost instantly. We looked around and found a soft wall next to our toilet and of course thought mold. We had all the symptoms of mold exposure plus the mildew-y smell. We knew we had to have something done because we were having our two young children potentially exposed to these risks and it was just disgusting. We contacted the front office and they seemed to completely brush off our complaints from the get go and seemed almost annoyed that we were already complaining about our living conditions. They told us that what we were experiencing was normal and we were overreacting. We overheard our neighbors talking about the rancid smell in their unit one day so we asked about what was going on in their place. They were also sick, to the point of needing medical attention and having the same disgusting odor we were experiencing. This was not only happening next door but also to the downstairs neighbor as well. Once the office finally decided to take action they agreed to clean out our air ducts but still did not pay attention to the potential mold exposure. They would not give us any proof that they had ACTUALLY done anything to our unit and refused us any paperwork involving what was done with our ducts. We brought up mold again and they emailed us a notice stating that they were going to charge us 500 dollars on top of our rent to inspect us for mold. Ridiculous. They ended up finding "no mold" but again, couldn't give us clear paperwork showing any proof. We kept calling to arrange some sort of payment plan to not have to pay everything at once since it was sprung on us and no one would answer the office phone or return our calls. After not getting through after many attempts we received a notice saying we were behind in payment. You guessed it. The extra 500 that we tried to deal with was screwing us over. We went down there and saw that on top of the 500 they were trying to charge us a few hundred in late fees that were not valid. Luckily we save all of our money order receipts and got those taken off, but they didn't have a reason or an apology for adding them on in the first place. They finally agreed to lower our mold payments to $300, which we appreciated. What a scam. After dealing with rude office staff, and being shown no compassion we decided to ride out our lease and live in the condition we were living in. We had to change our air filters every three weeks because they would be COATED in dust. After a few months we started noticing cockroaches here and there, we would kill them and kill them and kill them. They started to progress and multiply so we had them come and spray. Nothing helped. We were seeing more than fifty a day, every where. Roach droppings, shedding, and egg pods EVERYWHERE. We didn't even feel safe eating the food in our own home, and our children ended up staying with family at night and just be with us I the day because it was so disgusting. I would see them everywhere out of the corner of my eye even when they weren't there. We were experiencing mental trauma. They finally sprayed again and still it did not help. We had to have them bomb. They put it off for TWO WEEKS. In this time it was just getting worse, almost unlivable. We actually had to file a complaint with the health department and go down to the office ourselves to just get paper work to prepare us for the bombing. Once they bombed we still had bugs, not as many but definitely still there. We are moved out now thank GOD but whoever moves in next is in for a nightmare. Bridge property management only cares about appearance to lure in unsuspecting renters and not about the people who are already living at aventerra or the quality of their actual units. If the staff ever would have showed care or compassion maybe it wouldn't have been as horrible but all of the filth mixed with horrible attitudes and little to no communication easily made this one of the hardest years of my life. Not to mention completely paper thin walls where I could FEEL my next door neighbors moving from room to room. They started renovating about halfway through our lease which was purely aesthetic. For example, the Susan is the worst in the office. Don't expect her to help you with anything. We are seeking counsel to be reimbursed the money we shelled out to deal with this horrible place and for pain and suffering
