| - The positives:
-The design of the unit had a modern feel and was nice
-The pool area was nice
-Decent location right off Green Valley exit in Henderson
-The manager Jeff was helpful whenever I dealt with specifically him
The negatives:
-NOISE!:
Our neighbor downstairs would constantly blast his music and we could feel the bass from below us very often shaking our whole living room area! It was like jurassic park where the water cup would shake.. And it would almost always be late at night, midnight or later. After a number of times I went down to tell him to keep it down, or to just turn down the bass. He seemed nice and said OK. A week later he was at it again. I told the office. Nothing changed. I told the office again, this time speaking to the manager Jeff, he informed me that he wasn't informed about it from the other person I spoke to and that he'd handle it. From there the noise from below went on intermittently till we finally left after our year lease. When we first moved in no one was living above us, however, about half way through someone moved in above us. We could hear lots of thumping, walking, and other stuff. I am not sure if all these noise complaints i'm speaking of are due to the specific neighbors we had the bad luck of getting or due to the way these buildings were made. In any case the noise was extremely annoying and was the main reason we left, above and beyond the other problems
-PRICE TOO HIGH:
We had a second floor unit (of a three floor building) that was facing the strip. The price was high we were told because of the strip view and because of the location. The strip view was blocked partly by a large Elysian sign facing the freeway. Also, the freeway was right there so we could hear the noise of cars whizzing by whenever we went on the balcony. Anyways, price was definitely too high given all this (~900 sq ft 1 bedroom unit)
-OTHER PROBLEMS:
-We had a garage unit where I would park my car. Three/four times when my GF or I went to leave home and drive car the garage would not open. The first time my GF needed to go to college but couldn't get to the car. She took a Lyft there and back. I spoke to Jeff about this and he deducted the amount from our next rent amount which was good. The next two times it happened we had to wait around for a maintenance guy to come and help us out. One time there was no maintenance guy on the premise anymore and so we just had to wait till the next day. Some electrical problem but very annoying. Also the SONOS speaker systems do not work very good at all, we used them for a month or two before stopping. If someone plays it loud the other units can feel it, which is why I thought the downstairs problem was from him blasting his SONOS, turns out he wasn't using SONOS but a separate speaker system he had purchased.
Overall our experience here was extremely bad. I will say that a lot of our problems may have been due to our specific unit being over priced, our specific neighbors below us and above us, and some specific problems that happened during our stay (garage, etc). However, its possible the units are just poorly made and we were over charged. Anyways, we moved to The Manhattan by South Point two months ago and are happy about the change so far.
Another note I will say is that the manager Jeff offered to help us move our stuff from our unit to one of the town house units near the end of our lease when we were considering our options moving forward. That was a nice gesture but with the overall experience we had during that year we had to leave.
