It's the only library located in the middle of the downtown core and it's just steps away from my work. A mix crowd comes here: students, councillors, office workers, retirees, et al, which is proof that libraries are vital to our city.
It's a small library but it's spacious in size. This is thanks to the tall ceiling. There's a few tables in the middle and plenty of computers to use along the wall, but it's the seats by the windows that are most coveted. They face Nathan Phillips Square and they're perfect to sit, read, people watch or even take a nap - not saying that I've ever done it but I've seen others do it!
In the beginning of fall, they introduced an automated check out system that allows you to check your books out quickly. I'm not sure if this means they'll cut staff but it has made the check out process a lot easier.
