  • We made the short trek (about 35 minutes) from Charlotte to visit Lucky Dog this past weekend. We brought along our beagle puppy (8 months old) since he loves making new friends. We really enjoyed our first visit! The bar has a great selection of drinks and outside food is welcome (they do not serve food themselves). Everyone there seemed to be friendly and the dogs all got along. It was also nice that people were attentive to their dogs. We sat outside in the outdoor off-leash area. Our pup had a blast and after 2 hours, was totally exhausted. The outdoor area is very clean and has several high-top tables as well as picnic tables. There were TVs outside playing college football as well. There is also a window to order drinks so you do not have to keep going back inside to the main bar. We aren't familiar with the surrounding area so we didn't bring in food but we definitely are planning on visiting again and hopefully finding some good carryout nearby! We really enjoyed our time at Lucky Dog and our pup did too... it's totally worth the drive!
