I was in Phoenix for the annual Origami Owl convention. Pappadeaux is where my team leader chose to have our team dinner. I loved this choice because of the extensive options on the menu. There was so much to choose from that I didn't know where to start!
I studied the menu the best way I knew how while hungry . I chose a cup of Louisiana Shrimp Gumbo to start. It wasn't salty like most places it had the right amount of spice to clear your throat. There was also a generous amount of seafood for the size. I chose the Mississippi Catfish Opelousas for my main dish after much debate going on in my head. I usually like my catfish fried but I thought this would be healthier even though it would be sitting on Lemon Garlic Butter sauce. I really can't say, " No" to things with lemon garlic butter. I had an issue with eating oysters that night so they simply left them out and added more Shrimp and jumbo crab meat. It was absolutely divine with the dirty rice ! Loved it!!
I was stuffed but I couldn't turn my back on the Banana Wafer pudding that was served in a cute mason jar! The pudding was nice and thick and not too sweet. It was perfect! I also shared my husband's drink Swamp Thing but it was too strong for me.
I wish we had one of these restaurants in Las Vegas!
