If you like real ethnic Chinese food (as opposed to "Americanized") this place is the bomb!
A great selection of mostly Northeastern Chinese dishes, there hasn't been anything on the menu that wasn't acceptable, and many dishes that are just amazing. On the mediocre side was the orange chicken, but all the cold and noodle dishes I've had have been good. I try at least one new dish every single time I'm here.
But without a doubt the best thing on the menu is xiao long bao (Juicy Pork Dumplings, P13) - these are just amazing! Also extremely noteworthy are the House Special Sweet and Sour Pork (C08) -- this is unlike any "Americanized" S&S Pork dish I've had...a much better sauce and crispy flash-fried flat pieces of pork that curl up when fried -- it's like crispy pork candy! Recently I discovered the Salt and Pepper Calamari (F08) which is also fabulous, a great salt/pepper flavor and the best fried squid I've had.
Service can be hit or miss, as mentioned in a couple of other reviews. It is very busy at lunch because of the University crowd (I regularly eat here with a group of 8-10) and a good mix of people of diverse cultures, who would find the food both familiar and exotic.
Definitely a must-try place if you like ethnic food!
