  • I gave one star because you can't pick lower than one star. I bought a stand up mixer the Saturday before the holidays, because mom's was old and completely died. The guy I talked to was really nice, and said the one I was considering was a great mixer. 3 weeks later my brother made cookies, and the beater fell out mangling it. My mom ate a cookie, and discovered a piece of the mixer baked into the cookie...she could've choked on it. Today, I took it back...after telling the story to the manager, all he said was, "If all you wanted to do is make a complaint, you should've called Hamilton Beach.". EXCUSE ME, BUT MY MOTHER COULD'VE DIED DUE TO THE DEFECTIVE UNIT!!! No apology or compassion...he barely wanted to give me a refund. He put in the computer for reasons for return...."Customer changed mind" I don't think so, how about, "Defective mixer could've killed my mom, and the manager could've cared less.". DO NOT GO TO THIS STORE!!! THEY DON'T CARE!!!
