I am happy they did not take my order. I had heard about this bakery for a long time and finally I remembered it. I wanted to try something new albeit I have been quite happy with the baker at the 32nd Street/Camelback Safeway. But always trying to outdo myself I thought I would give this bakery a shot for my wife's birthday. I went in on Friday morning at just before eleven in the morning - the girl was nice and polite but I was told they needed a week for the preparation of the cake. She also said at least 24 hours. A man came out -- I am not sure if he is the owner or the husband of the owner. They didn't seem to concerned about my dilemma --- I know I waited late I needed the cake for Sunday (they are not open). so they said they could not have a cake ready by Saturday that they already had orders for Saturday.
I left and will never be back ---- they didn't even have to pay Grupon a fee to get me in the door. But one thing I learned from the experience is that I will look at Yelp next time - I didn't and when I did - I was surprised at the number of negative experiences. How do they stay in business.
I went to Safeway and the cake was fine and it was not any $75.00 - If I had been quoted that I would have left.
