I went in to have my leaking valve timing cover replaced under the power train warranty on my Tacoma. They went ahead and did the work, everything seemed good. When I went to pick the truck up, the service manager handed me a quote for $1,700.00 and mentioned my rack and pinion was busted (there was oil everywhere, looking like it was coming from the drivers side boot), my spark plugs needed to be replaced, as well as my cabin air filter. I thought this was strange because I had changed the spark plugs and cabin air filter a few thousand miles prior. I took my truck to a couple of shops and they could not find anything wrong so they cleaned it up and told me to keep an eye on my fluid levels and whether more power steering fluid was coming out of the system. For the next week or so I looked everyday and there was nothing. Fast forward to today, 10K miles later, and there still no signs of leaking or failing power steering. Now if my truck is not leaking now and never was, I can only assume they tried to make it look damaged in order to get more business. This will be my first and only experience with these guys, they are crooks.
