I have never written a review on any place before, but I am extremely irritated yet again.
I was just reminded why I leave frustrated when I shop at Marketside. If I'm not coming home with expired products, then I'm coming home empty handed. Four out of my past five shopping trips have ended unsuccessfully. The first time I had ever returned an item to a grocery store was a couple months ago to this place. I bought orange juice and when I opened it to give my son a glass, I noticed the expiration date had been a couple days prior. I immediately took it back so I could trade and the cashier was also frustrated because "this sh*t happens all the time here." He let me grab another jug and I had to search for one that hadn't already expired. I understand it's just a sell by date, but we don't drink it quick enough. This happened again recently with chocolate milk. I couldn't find my receipt and my husband just decided to go back and purchase another without complaint. I have learned I have to double check my items to make sure they haven't already expired. Luckily I didn't go home with the expired yogurt a couple weeks ago.
At the end of last month I had to run in for infant Tylenol for my teething baby. It was gone, I saw the spot to make sure it was actually carried. And again tonight I needed a can of Rotel tomatoes. Surprise, surprise they are out.
As I type this on my phone while I sit in the Safeway parking lot, I don't want to list anything else because I need to get my couple things Marketside is out of. It is located so close to my house, but because I always am inconvenienced when I go there I will no longer set foot in that store. It takes more time for me to load my kids up twice because I have to go to another store when Marketside is out. If it was occassional, I wouldn't mind.
What's the point of a cashier asking if you have found everything okay anyway? They are surprised when you actually tell them no. Or you could have a young cashier like I did tonight who doesn't acknowledge your existence.
