  • Just moved into the area and this place was convenient. I have used many good dry cleaners in the past so my expectations were high. I gave this one a few chances but enough is enough. 1. Upon my first visit, I was asked to pay up front. This has never happened to me before, with the exception of a shoe repair I never went back to. After about 5 visits, this dry cleaner finally 'granted' me the priviledge of not having to pay up front, because they 'knew me'. 2. Took them a men's white shirt, on which I pointed out a stain and also asked them to do a medium starch. I was charged 4.99!!! To make matters worse, the shirt came back with the stain still on it and there was a crease starched into the front of the shirt. Back for a re-do. 3. As my visits progressed, the woman at the front desk - trying to be chatty - kept asking me condescending questions about my personal life, which made me uncomfortable. (Talk about the weather if you want, but who I bring into your store is none of your business.) 4. Took them a women's linen shirt for pressing. Was told the price for a press was the same as drycleaning. In other words, a nice cash grab. Nonsense! I've never had to pay full pop for pressing before. As a press on its own wasn't possible, I had to go for the full clean. After I got the shirt back and paid for it, I noticed she'd charged me for a dress cleaning, not a shirt. When I went back to the store, she said it wasn't 'her fault' and it was some guy who set the price. I happened to be wearing the shirt that she'd overcharged me for and showed her that it was definitely not a dress. She did not offer to reimburse me but claimed I'd been charged for the extra fabric of the shirt. Hey, I don't mind paying extra to get a linen shirt drycleaned, but I'll be damned if I'm going to pay twice as much for a 'dress' when it isn't. That day I had to pickup another shirt which was exactly the same as the one I've just described, but in another colour. She told me that 'just this once' she'd charge me the shirt price. When I got the shirt back, the tag on it said 'silk' instead of 'linen' but this time the price was for a shirt, not a dress. At least they got that right. But that price wasn't a one-time deal. The tag on the shirt and pricing was already established when I brought the shirt in! She was just covering up for overcharging me. When I also asked her why the tag said the shirt was silk instead of linen, she shrugged her shoulders and said they're the same. 5. It gets better. When I tried to pay for the above second shirt and handed her my debit card, she told me they don't take debit cards for anything under $10. WTF?????? Stay away from this dry cleaner, people. They will hose you and give you crappy service on top of that. Just because they're situated on Queen's Quay does not give them the license to....dare I say.....take people to the cleaners!!! Fortunately, after some research, I have since found another one, not as convenient, but with the service and prices I expect..
