You are not going to get a cheesesteak like from Pat's or Geno's but you will get a Philly style Ribeye Steak sandwich on genuine Philly Rolls. They do offer other items like hoagies, Philadelphia Style Pizza, soft pretzels flown in from Philadelphia and Philly TastyKakes. I did try a steak sandwich from another Corleone's location so I thought this time I'd try a Chicken & Spinach Steak Style sandwich.
The chicken seemed like what a chicken steak normally taste like but I didn't care for the tasteless small amount of spinach in my sandwich. The lifeless spinach brought the sandwich down for me and is something POPEYE would stay away from. For my taste the sandwich meat, onions, and spinach were over chopped so much you could almost drink the filling threw a straw. However the fries were hot fresh and very fluffy and the condiments were good. They had sweet cherry peppers, mild whole cherry peppers and better quality pickle chips.
The atmosphere was cute but not at all what I was expecting. The restaurant featured Cheeze Whiz everywhere. GIANT Cheeze Whiz Cans hanging from the ceiling and a wall of Cheeze Whiz Cans. I understand the Cheeze Whiz connection to Pat's from Philly but this is whey overdone and cheesy and not Philly to me.
I've been to the Camelback Location of Corleone's and the food might have been about the same but the atmosphere was very authentic, fun and almost museum like. Just for the atmosphere the Camelback Location deserves a higher rating.
A little Taste of Philly.
3 stars is A-OK and still positive and means worth a try!
