We purchased an Insinkerator Evolution Premier In January, 2015. It began leaking and we knew we had an in home warranty so we contacted the ONLY company that provides the service for the in home warranties to see what could be done. The woman I originally spoke with was very friendly and helped me set up an appointment for Thursday, May 14, 2015, between 10am and 2pm.
At about 1pm the technician called and let my husband know he would be there in about 20 minutes. He said he was just finishing up a job and would head over as soon as he was done. We didn't hear anything from him again until 2:22pm when he finally showed up. I understand things can get crazy and jobs can take longer than you thought, but just a courtesy call to let us know he'd be running late would've made all the difference.
When he gets there, my husband answers the door and the man doesn't say anything, he just walks right into our house and straight into the kitchen. He looks at the unit and says it is faulty and he will place the order for the new one. He let us know that the new unit will be in soon and he will be back either Monday, May 18, or Tuesday, May 19, to install it.
Monday comes and goes and we don't hear anything. Tuesday morning at 9:58am, my husband calls and asks if they have any more information about our service or when the man will be coming back. The call literally lasted 33 seconds, the woman said she would check, got his last name, and hung up. We didn't hear back for about an hour, so at 10:56am we call back to find out what is going on. At that time the person tells us that the unit will be ordered today and that it takes about 3 to 5 business days to get here. Then, when it comes in, someone will bring it out to us. She also let us know that the timeframe we were given for our "appointment" is just a guideline and really their technician can show up at any time of the day. I was flabbergasted at this one, I have never heard such indifference and callousness come from a customer service agent.
We became frustrated and tried to explain that the technician told us it would be here and that he would be in our home installing it on Monday or Tuesday. The person on the other end of the line simply did not care and finally transferred us to her supervisor, Yuri. Again, we were met with complete indifference and a "this is what it is, take it or leave it" attitude. There wasn't even any concern that their technician is quoting people timeframes that he has no ability to keep.
This company does not care about it's customers, especially ones who are required to use them for their service warranties. I can only imagine that those warranties and contracts are the only ways this company is still in business. They know they are the only company that we can use and they use that to their complete advantage.
At this time we have contacted Insinkerator to let them know what is going on, and we are still left without one side of our sink since the brand new disposal is still not fixed. We also still have no idea when we will be receiving our new unit or if they have even placed the order for it yet.
Do not deal with them, they do not care about their customers and they do not care if their technicians are quoting timeframes or services they can't keep.
