I had to show every bit of restraint in every single way.
I wanted to build a pillow and blanket fort in the corner
so I could gather armfuls of toys and retreat into it for hours of playtime.
I wanted to spend all of my monies
and relive all of my memories.
This place had me shrieking "I used to have that!!"
and other such statements as I relived my childhood.
I tried on goofy hats, I tried on goofy masks,
I oooh'd and aaaaah'd over all the novelty items
and squeeled with delight as I looked over the cases
of figurines from classic 80's cartoons and such.
Everything was moderatly priced,
they didn't jack up the cost simply because it's 'vintage'.
This is the kind of store I want my childhood preserved in,
it doesn't leave me feeling violated
in the way that Hot Topic or Spencers does
when they start hawkin' shit with Strawberry Shortcake on it.
I love it.
The guy working here was really nice,
I'm sure I would develop a mega crush on him if I was a regular.
Unfortunatly, being surrounded by the toys of my childhood
would probably bring back all the social awkwardness
that I have barely outgrown.
