| - I have only been to Ichiban once, but I can't wait to go back. My fiance and I had the full hibachi dinner, and it was as good--maybe even better-- as the similar meal that I had at Ron of Japan in Chicago. I ordered the red snapper hibachi dinner, and it was delicious. The accompaniments (shrimp, soup, salad, vegetables and rice or noodles) were good, too, especially the miso soup. The salad was a small one, comprised of overdressed iceburg lettuce. My fiance ordered the shrimp and steak hibachi dinner, and he was pleased.
The service at Ichiban was excellent, and the fellow dinners who were at our table seemed to enjoy their meals. One detail at Ichiban that I especially liked was that people sharing the same grill top were not situated too close together, making it less awkward. In all, I had a pleasant, impressive experience.
