  • I stopped by Discount Firearms looking for a nice range to shoot at during the summer months. It is in the strip club area so I would consider this a daytime only place to shop. The prices in the retail store seemed to be fine to better than average and the range fee is great at $10.00. They seemed well stocked but definitely tourist oriented with logo gear and other things taking up much of the floor space. The whole place seems tired and in need of a remodel. Actually, the range needs a remodel badly. it looks like it hasn't been cleaned since last year. The plywood benches and other things are just worn out. The layout was poorly designed too but they probably just made do with the space they had. I liked that the tourists seemed to be watched over closely and even though they obviously are tourist driven, they treat locals well. Other places that make their living off of tourists tend to treat locals poorly. I gave the 4 stars for the poor condition of the range and for the cranky cashier. She really needs a better customer service attitude. Otherwise, it wasn't all that bad.
