  • I never knew Convive existed until a girlfriend invited me to check it out today, but I have a feeling I'm going to become a regular at this place. At Convive you'll find hip decor, lovely atmosphere, and helpful staff. Oh, and most importantly...good coffee. Convive has only been open for about two months at this point, and you can tell it's being received well by coffee-mongers in the North Hills. The space is just lovely; it's so airy and bright. Convive has combined rustic elements such as a wooden bar and shelves made out of tree trunks with very classic touches like marble counters and fresh flowers. Look upwards, and you'll see sparkly chandeliers hanging from the ceiling illuminating an aged National Geographic map of the world. Convive has a great mixture of seating; one area has wooden tables while another has couches and a small fireplace. I could easily see myself grabbing a cup of coffee and hanging out for hours here. The menu at Convive is small, but when you have good coffee, that doesn't matter. The baristas at Convive don't mask their espresso behind shots of sugary flavoring. I ordered an iced mocha, and was pleasantly surprised by the rich flavor. A lot of "trendy" coffee shops are all about the show and don't have great coffee to back themselves up, but at Convive, this is not so. I'm looking forward to coming back and trying more of their drink options. My favorite part about Convive, hands down, is their "Pay it Forward Wall." Three corkboards hang from the walls with coffee cup sleeves pinned to them, each displaying a different message penned by a donor. People essentially "pay it forward" by purchasing a cup of coffee for an unknown future recipient. As you examine the corkboards, you can remove one of the sleeves and take it to a barista for a free cup of coffee if the phrase on the sleeve applies to you. What a wonderful idea! I'm very impressed with Convive, and this is really saying something as I'm no stranger to the coffee shop scene. Next time you're in the North Hills, check it out!
