| - These guys are great!
When I initially pulled up to their shop, I couldn't believe the quality of the cars they work on routinely. I asked if they did general maintenance and repairs (since all I saw was hot-rods) and they told me yes.
My 2001 Corvette has had a loud squeak coming from under the hood for a few months now and I also had a brake fluid leak from a repair at another shop a while back. They did tell me they wouldn't be able to get me in for a few days because they were so busy. That said, I completely missed my appointment on the day I scheduled with them, so I brought in in the day after. They were totally okay with it and squeezed me right back in! Not only that, but I let them know my car situation and that I'd need it for work in a couple days and they made sure to complete it before then so that I didn't need to get a rental car.
When I picked up my car, I realized how meticulous they are. Not only did they replace my broken parts, but they cleaned up any fluids from the areas they worked (like ALL of the leaking brake fluid), they went ahead a replaced a commonly worn out part (since they had to take it off anyway), and they "splurged" $20 to get me a better replacement part! Some people don't like that, but I much prefer it from a quality shop. My favorite part was that they actually let me know that I was missing a lug-nut and a few lug-nut covers. That lets me KNOW that I can trust them to have a very detailed eye when taking care of my ride.
The last piece was a huge surprise. When I picked it up, my bill should've been almost twice as much as it was. They don't believe in charging you to remove something that already has to be removed in order to fix what needs fixing. My dad has owned an auto shop for my entire life (I would've taken it to him but he lives in AL). I know from his association with other shops owners that many shops charge you for any little thing that they can, but 5 Star Auto Repair charged me for what needed doing, and they skipped all the other charges.
Bottom line, when I first saw the name "5 Star Auto Repair", I thought it was a gimmick. But these guys are the real deal and I'll be taking both of my cars to them from this point forward. Do yourself a favor and do the same.
One more bonus...I believe they are getting their own TV show. Get your car worked on there and you just might get your 15 minutes of fame. Or at least your car will.
