| - Food and drink places come hand in hand with me with low expectations and an open mind; Jozo is definitely no exception to that for me.
When you enter the plaza, trying to peruse around the parking lot for a sign that could've possibly screamed "HALT! IT IS I, BOBA!", good luck with that because all you'll see is a sign that's quite confusing because it looks like a mix of a fraternity crest trying to disguise itself as a boba place. Creative, but poorly executed (perhaps making the sign bigger or have the JOZO lettering be more eye-catching to us poor squinty-eyed souls).
The interior of the shop had a quaint twist to the hipster vibes it emitted from, but left much to be desired: pipes and miniature bookshelves on the wall, a dimly lit atmosphere with the interior light sourceslightly lightened light bulbs from a high ceiling, chalk wall designs of what you could possibly be defined as art from a college freshman's perspective, different shapes of furniture plastered left and right but a huge gap of negative pace in the middle that could've been executed better with an additional staple sitting area. Some of the philosophical quotes in the room were a nice and snarky touch though.
Truth be told I mostly came by just for the glass bottles as they were sort or reminiscent of Erlenmeyer flasks and the infamous Roasting Water glass bottles in California. However upon ordering we found out the triangular bottle was out of stock as well as the cork bottle covers. :(( Sad days, and it was just the beginning of the week too!
I ordered the earl grey milk tea with the 16oz glass bottle, no boba, minimal amount of sweetness. I did like this, and it wasn't strong in flavor, however it wasn't super exceptional to the point where I would want seconds or thirds. I feel that if it had anymore sweetness it would be too much for me to handle. Thankfully, on a warm day I was able to gulp this down instantly. Do take note that the logo on the bottles have a clear sticker embossment to them, its not as deeply engraved as I liked it to be but hey better than a plastic cup, I guess?
My friends ordered the signature espresso shake and a honeydew milk tea. I don't care for honeydew honestly (I can't get into it for the life of me), and the espresso shake was too sweet for my tastebuds. With finality though, because its a ways too far from where I reside, I would only visit here if I'm in the area for curious cremation services or whenever I have the time to purchase the chemistry flask since it appealed to me the most.
