  • I would've think that this airport was rated higher than expected. Spent a good amount of time at this airport, partly because of work related events, but to get to the point, this airport felt small but a good enough size where one won't get lost. Arrival: The first impression I got from this airport upon landing felt totally different as if I were to ever fly in to LAX. Personnel were so friendly, and the people of Arizona felt so warm...not like those angry people at LAX! Upon arriving at the jetbridge at Terminal 2 with United, stepped foot out, and walked out for about 5 minutes, coming to realize that I had already arrived at the baggage carousel. Very easy to navigate, and find right away. After picking up my bag which literally only took eight minutes to wait upon aircraft blocking into its gate, my co-workers and I headed straight out to the van/courtesy shuttle stop. Departure: After my co-workers and I dropped off our rental car vehicle at its hub, we boarded a rental car shuttle bus to the airline terminals, which was such a breeze. A friendly bus driver dropped us off at Terminal 4, where we were able to aboard an American flight back to LA. Checking in with American was a breeze, but more impressively were the TSA officers. This airport is facilitated with friendly and nice TSA officers, not like those ones at LAX, that literally don't give a you know what about you. No stupid pat down, and cleared security within a few minutes. Terminal 4 doesn't offer too many shops or restaurants beyond TSA checkpoint, but for what it offers was enough to kill some time. Waiting around an hour or so to board for the flight, my co-workers hopped into a bar and grabbed a few drinks, and waited for our flight to start boarding. Boarding with American was once again a breeze. Didn't wait long, and shortly enough, wheels up to smoggy Los Angeles. Overall: I really like this airport a lot! The people are friendly, it's small enough where one won't get lost, and it's quite clean, unlike LAX, where if you walk into the bathroom at Terminal 8 (United's terminal), you're literally taking a dump in the beaches of LA. Overall grade: A+
