  • A coworker and I bought the 10-class Groupon/Living Social deal, and we have been to Yoga Village 4 or 5 times now. We've had just as many instructors and they have all been good. We chose this studio specifically based on location (close to our office) and class times (conveniently begin right after we get off work), and I have been pleased with our choice. I practice yoga at home several times a week. but I do enjoy going to classes occasionally to learn new poses, be challenged, and have an instructor correct and encourage me. The instructors at Yoga Village aren't intimidating and they make you feel welcome no matter your skill level. We even inadvertently attended a teacher training class and thought we were going to be severely out of place but the teacher was warm and accommodating to our level of relative (in)experience. I have been to several different yoga studios and this one is very much about the yoga practice as a whole, not necessarily just the physical practice. Classes start with mantras or quiet meditation, some have even involved essential oils, which was a nice additional element to enjoy. One thing I have noticed is that the instructors do a lot more verbal instructing (vs doing the poses with you) than I have experienced at other studios. I have been to classes where the instructor does just about every move with you, and that is not always the case with Yoga Village. If you don't know the names of the asanas/poses, you have to hope your neighbor does so that you can copy them. To their credit, if most of the class seems lost, they'll happily demonstrate. The studio is cozy, but not too small. Plenty of room for three or four rows of students to practice comfortable without being on top of each other. Bathroom is large, with thoughtful amenities (ponytail holders, sanitary products, etc.) that really go the extra mile. It's unfortunate that a regular price membership is so expensive, otherwise I would seriously consider continuing to attend after our 10 classes are up. Unfortunately for me $90 a month is a little more than I can spend for a yoga membership. Overall, I would definitely recommend giving this studio a try for all levels of yoga and if you're looking for a studio that focuses on the heart, mind AND body.
