I've been going to the Wynn Buffet since it opened. My 2 star rating is because of how it has changed over the years. It probably deserves 3 stars, and the atmosphere is very nice for a buffet. However, when they opened it was awesome. They had rack of lamb (and I mean real rack, not the little chops that they sometimes have now), they had great carved meats. They had two seafood sections, and now just one. Their soups were better, their food was just better. Their desserts were sooooo much better. I'm not sure if they got a good reputation and cut back, lost the chef, or just realized they didn't have to do things so nice and people would still go.
Buffet is very hard to do well. The food sits out, and continues to cook while people aren't taking it. Pasta's get over cooked and mushy. Meats dry out. Pizza gets cold and the cheese gets dry. Everything can get old fast. The Wynn used to avoid all of this. I wish it was like it used to be.
If you ever decide to do things the way you did when you first opened I will be back. Until then, thanks for the memories.
