| - I'll never know how I had gone a full 31 years without having ever tried a lobster roll! I was down by the strip for a week-long convention, and a friend with me dragged me along through the Sands Expo Center, through the Venetian, to Lobster Me. First instinct was, "sounds yummy, but HOW MUCH FOR A LOBSTER ROLL?!" I'll save you a long tale and let you know that I basically tried to make it back there every day for the rest of that week!
Lobster Me is a casual food court venue within the Venetian, adjacent to many other eateries. During convention lunch hours, the line can be long but catch them outside of these windows and you're golden! Their menu has a variety of rolls (lobster, crab, 50/50 (half crab and half lobster), but keep in mind that the lobster roll is the only one served warm. The 50/50 was good, but I had my heart set on a warm sandwich. The lobster roll can be topped with certain add ons, like avocado, chipotle aioli, etc, but I decided to be a purist for my first lobster roll - it did not disappoint!
A friend got an appetizer called a lobscicle, which is exactly what it sounds like - a cooked lobster tail on a stick, served with butter, ready to be devoured! It looked amazing, but also pricey. On another day I tried the lobster Mac and cheese: great cheesy noodles, but I wish there was more lobster to noodles ratio, but I understand that would've probably driven up the price more. As for sides, I opted for a side of clam chowder (instead of the default fries), which in my mind rivaled the likes of Boudin's clam chowder on Pier 39 in San Francisco. The oyster crackers really make that soup dish!
Definitely worth a try to see what the hype is about; I was glad I did! Try them here or at one of their other strip locations; none off-strip, as far as I know, but worth the price and worth the drive!
