This was my 1st time staying downtown. I checked in on July 18, and encountered my one and only semi rude person. My flight arrived very early...7:30am, and I had indicated this when I made my reservations 2months in advance! I am disabled so flying at times can be difficult, anyway the lady at the desk made a comment that she didn't know why "us people" came in so early expecting to be able to check in & that the soonest I'd get into a room would be noon. The bell desk folks were very nice when I stowed my bags and hobbled off with my walker. I could have been ok with the noon part, it was just the attitude that almost made me whip out my phone to look for a different hotel. Around 1030, I talked to the front desk manager & this lovely lady checked me right in. I was in room 711 in the north tower . The noise was tolerable until Thursday night. But I plugged in my earbuds and could ignore it for the most part.
The bad things about this property:
Air conditioner was horrible. I kept it on full tilt the whole time, and the room never really cooled well.
The toilets were terrible about flushing ( nuff said )
Waiting 20 minutes for an elevator. At times there was only one functioning elevator.
I was a bit lost with no wifi, maybe this is the sacrifice of no resort fee ?
And finally to a lesser degree, the ugly water stain on the ceiling. It bugged the heck out of me , it made me feel like my room wasn't clean and yet it was.
What was good: The front desk manager, whose name escapes me at the moment. And really all of the staff I encountered during my stay. Everyone was very nice and friendly.
Magnolia's all 3 of the meals I had here were fantastic!
I'm up in the air if I'd stay here again . I guess for now I can safely say I will consider it when it's time to start planning the next trip.
