| - My main reason for shopping at Aldi is mostly for produce items. I occasionally will pick up some other items when needed. Their produce selection and prices can't be beaten at any other local grocery stores. I like how the produce section is usually situated in the middle of the store, easy to find what you need all together in one place. Be sure to check out the produce items of the week for even greater savings. Milk, bread, eggs and more are much cheaper here. It would be nice one day if they had a deli and fresh seafood department, but then they'd probably raise prices lol. About a month ago they began accepting credit cards. They also pay higher wages to employees than the competition. Stores are always clean and friendly staff. I like their domestic aisle that normally has some seasonal home items and such. You can all types of stuff in this section, also for great prices. I've bought things like bed linens, auto care products, auto/garden tools, candles, bird feeders and the list goes on.
Aldi is a bigger outfit than most people may realize. They have 1,300 U.S. locations and 4,000 worldwide. In 1914, a woman by the name of Anna Albrecht started a small grocery store in Germany. In 1954 their first self-serve store opened. 1976 was their debut U.S. store, opened in Iowa. ALDI is a shortened version of Albrecht-Discount. If you don't shop at Aldi, then maybe you should check it out sometime!
