  • We have stayed at the Marriott Courtyard numerous times. This is our choice of hotels when we spend time in Madison and surrounding communities. The staff has always been friendly , accommodating and the property clean and well kept. This stay is another story. I carry Gold elite status with Marriott. I asked for an upgrade , none available. I asked for breakfast or drinks, no response. Only an I'm sorry here's your key. The room smelled like a roadside motel. We switched rooms with slightly better results. Because of this we were offered free drinks. We went to sit outdoors in the courtyard about 3:00 in the afternoon. We wanted to get a drink but no drink service was available. So much for free drink coupons .we sat down on the outdoor furniture. It was filthy.,stained with sweat, bird poop and debris. It was disgusting. This hotel has lost its edge. We will find a new place to stay when we come to Madison.
